Switzerland is Hemingway's second home. He has been travelling there since the 1970's but only in the last 20 years has he felt the need to paint its landscape. Like Turner and others before him, his eyes have been opened to the extraordinary southern light playing upon the landscape. His vision has been void of anything romantic, instead he has fixated on the architecture of the 1960's. An extraordinary juxtaposition to the idyll. He focuses on the criss-crossing of power cables and motorways, electric train lines and countless other elements of mankind's modern imprint. Series ongoing.
